18 1/2 Minutes Missing From “Frost/Nixon

Movie audiences were outraged Friday when it was discovered that Ron Howard's Oscar contender “Frost/Nixon” was put into wide release with an 18 1/2 minute gap. When asked by interviewers, the film's stars Michael Sheen and Frank Langella refused to say which particular 18 1/2 minutes had been removed.

“I don't remember specifically what those scenes were,” said a sweaty Langella. “I'm sure it was very similar to the rest of the film.”
Director Ron Howard maintains that the missing footage was, in fact, a scene about Watergate. “We had so much Watergate in the movie, we felt it was necessary to cut out 18 1/2 minutes to give the film a quicker pace.

This hasn't stopped rampant media speculation that the missing 18 1/2 minutes of “Frost/Nixon” is a scene revealing the secret of the missing 18 1/2 minutes on the infamous White House tapes.
In his review of the film, former Washington Post reporter Bob Woodward said: “Mr. Howard has to deliver the missing 18 1/2 minutes. He owes it to the American people. Those 18 1/2 minutes explaining the real 18 1/2 minutes are the only thing that restore American's confidence in the movie's representation of American's confidence in the Presidency.

Universal Pictures and the Nixon library refused to comment for this article.
