Baseball Announces Hall Of Fame Class Of 2015, Remember When Randy Johnson Blew Up A Bird?

Here birdy-birdy

Every year, the old men of Major League Baseball (that is, the guys who ‘ve been writing about only baseball for the last 10+ years and who by and large hate the sport because of it) cast ballots for who they think should be in the Hall of Fame. This year they elected 4 players: Randy Johnson, Pedro Martinez, John Smoltz and Craig Biggio.

Those are four great baseball players but let ‘s face it, only one of those men blew up a bird with a pitch he threw.

Randy Johnson is a uniquely interesting and weird dude. Even beyond his distinctive look that screams ‘I don ‘t have an email address and I own a lot of faded Wranglers”, he also has other interests outside of being one of the most dominant pitchers in the history of baseball. After retiring he took up photography and now owns a photography company and, surely eager to keep his reputation of bird-blower-upper fresh in everyone ‘s mind, the logo for Randy johnson Photography is a dead bird.

The Baseball Hall of Fame can be a boring, overwrought affair but at the very least, this year we ‘ll get to hear Randy Johnson make a speech about (I ‘m assuming) how he exploded a bird.
