After a number of arrests of top soccer – excuse me – football officials, John Oliver helps us inspect FIFA ‘s corruptive state. The FBI indicted fourteen people on corruption charges with the help of the former American FIFA Executive Committee member, Chuck Blazer, who himself has pleaded guilty for racketeering, wire fraud, income tax evasion and money laundering.Along with the onslaught of white-collar crime, the death toll of migrant workers working to build the 2022 Qatar World Cup arenas is nearing 1,200. As Oliver points out, the whole damn system is guilty. Blood is on everyone ‘s hands! Fifteen voicemails have been left on Oliver ‘s phone by now offering him a week ‘s stay at various private islands in exchange for silence. Er, I mean good reporting.
