It turns out the idea of the penny is worth more than the little zinc Lincoln itself. The US government loses profit making them and US citizens literally couldn ‘t care less if tomorrow we were a penny-less society. John Oliver offers some reasons as to why we ‘re still holding onto the penny, though not literally on an individual level.
