This Little Boy Was Born Deaf, But Jay-Z Gave Him A Free Tidal Membership Anyway

Some celebrities just ‘get it, ‘ and Jay-Z is one of those people.

Shortly after the release of his newest album, 4:44, the rapper heard about Eric McDavids, an 8-year-old boy from Charlotte, North Carolina who was unfortunately born without the ability to hear.

Yesterday, Eric was shocked to get a hand-written letter in the mail from none other than Jay-Z himself, providing Eric the log-in information for his very own account on Tidal, the music streaming service that Jay-Z owns.

Jay-Z then explained his actions with a couple tweets.

I ‘m not crying, you ‘re crying.

In these days of intolerance, it ‘s so refreshing to see a celebrity use his or her own platform to show that just because someone like little Eric can ‘t hear, it doesn ‘t mean he should have to live without the luxury of his own premium music streaming account.

Other artists better step their game up, pronto, because Jay-Z just set the bar pretty darn high.
