Funny Or Die mourns the loss of our friend and former colleague Neil Mahoney. We join the chorus of comedians and creators who loved Neil.
Simply put, he was a great guy, always ready with a smile, a hearty laugh, and amazing creative instincts. Thank you Neil, we were honored to work with you and call you a friend.
In remembrance of Neil, we share a collection of some of his work with us over the years, as well as the comments and stories many others in the community are sharing.
Yesterday my friend Neil Mahoney suddenly passed away. He was a wonderful person & I am proud to have been his friend. I am stunned and sad and angry.

Neil Mahoney is as sweet as they come. Legitimately funny and amazingly talented. A friend to everyone. What a kind soul.
I finally got to work with him last year and came away knowing he was the funniest editor I've ever worked with. Grateful for his presence in my life. RIP.

I adored @NEILMAHONEY the moment I met him. In a sea of LOOK AT ME'S, he was quietly the funniest, smartest person in the room. I could talk to him about anything, he always made me feel comfortable and safe, which is rare. RIP to a perfect man. I hope he knew how loved he was.
